Thoroughly saddened to read the news of Norton Juster’s passing. The Chuck Jones-helmed film adaptation of 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒐𝒎 𝑻𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒕𝒉 was a staple of my childhood, but I actually came to the novel in my early twenties, where it proceeded to blow my mind with it’s manic, unadulterated imagination and, of course, all the mischievous, marvelous wordplay. It quickly became a favorite and forever changed the way I thought of children’s literature. If you haven’t read this understated masterpiece, I highly recommend you do so.⠀
Rest easy, Milo.
